Macarthur Football Association is looking forward to an uninterrupted winter season, which officially kicks off in April.

The association oversees football competition for 23 member clubs across Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly. It promotes an inclusive approach which caters for all segments of the community.

General manager Salv Carmusciano said he was excited for the future of the game following two seasons in which the resilience of the club and its players had been tested.

"Despite a premature end to the year, a record 10,800 players hit the park in 2021," Mr Carmusciano said.

"We are looking to build on the 900-plus teams and provide an avenue for as many community members as possible to keep active, connect with family and friends, and have fun through football.

"Football is a truly inclusive sport which caters for all segments of the community. Our aim is to make sure we have a participation offering to suit everyone," Mr Carmusciano said.

MiniRoos Football offers a fun introduction to primary-aged boys and girls via small-sides games on Saturday mornings.

Boys and girls as young as five can register to be part of the fun.

Girls only football is the fastest growing segment of the game, with girls as young as five playing in teams of four. The 11-a-side competition caters for players from U12 and there are a range of divisions throughout the Youth Leagues (12-18) to cater for varying skill levels.

The association also offers Girls Youth Football for each age group from 12 which is predominantly played on Saturdays.

Mr Carmusciano said Senior Football (19+) is incredibly popular in Macarthur, with 11 Men's Divisions and 5 Women's Divisions registered in 2021. Games take place on Sundays.

"The Over 35s and Over 45s Leagues are also highly subscribed, with leagues running on Friday nights," he said.
