St Peter's Anglican Primary School is about to undergo a big transformation.

The independent school will now offer secondary education with the introduction of the school's first Year 7 cohort in 2022.

Headmaster Brendan Gorman said the school would offer local families a pre-kindergarten to Year 12 campus in the heart of Campbelltown by 2027.

"This has been a long time coming and ensures the ongoing success of our school moving forward," he said.

"It gives parents the assurance of a pre-kindergarten to Year 12 education here at St Peter's.

"It is our intent that we will become an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Years 7 to 10 and the IB Diploma Program (DP) in Years 11 and 12."

The St Peter's Anglican Primary School name will also be changed to reflect the school's future.

Mr Gorman said the school will now be called St Peter's Anglican Grammar.

"Our new name highlights the academic offerings and rigor our exceptional staff aim to deliver to all students," he said.

"Research continues to show that students learn in a variety of ways and flexibility in approach is key.

"As a result, students will learn in a balance of disciplinary, interdisciplinary, collaborative and independent opportunities. Secondary School at St Peter's Grammar will look different."

Mr Gorman said the St Peter's home campus would be the base for student learning in secondary school, acknowledging that students will also access facilities and spaces across the south west.

"Leveraging different learning spaces from around our local area will be a key point of difference to our offering," he said.

"Our aim will be to give students a richer, more fulfilled learning experience. Coupled with the IB program, we aim to prepare students for future study, work placement of choice and fantastic career opportunities."

St Peter's Heart, a new special school, will also be commencing in 2022.

Mr Gorman said St Peter's Heart would provide quality, Christian education for students with moderate intellectual disabilities and/or moderate autism spectrum disorder.

He said the school would include very small classes of between seven and 10 students with specially trained teachers and assistance.

"The Gospel compels us to care for all and to share the good news of Jesus with as many as possible and I am thrilled to be leading this new venture as part of the St Peter's family," he said.

"We have scheduled online Information Sessions where we will share our Building Plans, curriculum, time tabling, fee structure and also answer a host of questions.

"We invite interested families to register to hear about this exciting initiative and how they can be involved."
