Whether you're a dancer, student of the arts or simply love a good performance, everyone will find something to enjoy at the upcoming Light the Way Dance Convention.
The three-day event, coming to the Coliseum Theatre at West HQ, Rooty Hill, is a celebration of all things dance that will be attended by Aussie greats of the industry - and Australian Community Media has 20 double passes to the climactic showcase performance night on August 8 headlined by Helpmann Award-winner Caroline O'Connor (Chicago).
The event follows the release of dancers Louise Telford and Kelley Abbey's industry dance book Light the Way - Inspiring Stories from Australian Dancers.
Telford and Abbey identified how important it was for the next generation of Australian dancers to be educated and inspired by the greats of the industry, and Light the Way promises to be three days and nights of learning, performance and - of course - dance.
Running August 6-8, Light the Way will bring the industry together to inspired and educate the next generation of Aussie dancers by giving students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the greats in the industry and perform on the same bill as their icons.
The first night will see a Musical Theatre Cabaret Gala with O'Connor take over the stage, which will be transformed into a New York City Cabaret Club. The best up-and-coming Aussie musical theatre students will perform.
The Saturday performance will be a celebration of dance, giving members of full-time performing arts institutions the chance to perform in front of the biggest names in the business.
Finally, Sunday event will be the culmination of the previous days' hard work, with group performances from students of all ages.
Australia Community Media has 20 double passes to give away to the gala showcase on Sunday, August 8 from 6.30pm at West HQ.
