Netballers descend on Narellan for representative carnival

Netballers from all across the state descended on Narellan Sports Hub last weekend to take part in the 2021 Camden Representative Carnival.

Thousands of netballers, coaches, umpires, and parents arrived early on Sunday morning for the highly anticipated carnival.

C&DNA president John Hahn said the carnival had been a huge success.

"The executive team have worked tirelessly to get the carnival organised and all the hard work paid off - by all accounts, everyone had a great day," he said.

Camden and District Netball Association (C&DNA) hosted 26 associations at the event.

Teams travelled from as far as Bathurst, Charleston, Queanbeyan, and Coffs Harbour to compete.

The carnival also featured plenty of local talent, including netballers from Camden, Campbelltown, Liverpool and Wollondilly.

All the action from Court 20 on the day was live-streamed, a first for the Camden association.

C&DNA's Representative Coordinator Tracy Anderson said it was a successful carnival overall and a big day for the Association.

She said Camden had eight teams competing in the day with all teams displaying courage, commitment, and resilience.

"The fog cleared and the sun came out resulting in an extremely warm day - this is the first Camden carnival that some of our representative teams have attended," Ms Anderson said.

"All teams who attended are to be congratulated for their sportsmanship and also following all COVID guidelines and protocols in place."

The day commenced at 8.30am and the final whistle was blown at 3.06pm.
