Glenfield man charged with alleged domestic violence related murder

A Glenfield man has been charged with a domestic violence related murder following a police investigation into the death of a woman earlier this year.

Emergency services attended a house in Glenfield at 9.20am on Monday, September 21 2020, following reports an unconscious 66-year-old woman had been found inside.

Shortly after 9.30am, Police say they attended a single-vehicle collision on Glenfield Road where a car had collided with a concrete wall.

The 67-year-old driver - and sole occupant - was treated at the scene before being transported to Liverpool Hospital with serious chest and leg injuries.

The woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition and died the following day (September 22).

Police say an investigation into the incident was launched by Campbelltown City Police Area Command and yesterday (Tuesday, November 10), officers attended Liverpool Hospital to charge the 67-year-old man with murder.

He was refused bail and is expected to participate in a bed side hearing today (Wednesday, November 11).
