Do you have any bulky cardboard, excess paper or polystyrene laying around?

Camden Council wants to help you get rid of it in an environmentally friendly way.

Residents have the chance to get rid of their extra recycling waste at the council's annual Recycling Drop Off event.

The quarterly event, which was postponed earlier this year due to COVID-19, will be held on Saturday, October 10 from 9am to 3pm at the council's Works Depot located at 5 Millwood Avenue, Narellan.

Camden mayor Theresa Fedeli said the event was ideal for new residents moving into their homes with extra recycling waste.

"Council's Recycling Drop Off events give the community a chance to do the right thing for the environment and recycle in the best way possible," Cr Fedeli said.

"While I have noticed many people either moving into the area or even fixing things up in their own homes over the past six months, I am sure this Recycling Drop Off has come at the perfect time.

"For the safety of both the community and staff, residents are asked to remain in their cars when they attend council's Works Depot."

Items that will be accepted on the day include:

  • Bulky cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic bottles and containers
  • Glass bottles
  • Cans
  • Polystyrene

Council requests residents who answer 'yes' to any of the following questions NOT attend the event:

  • Have you or an immediate family member:
    • Been in close contact with anyone who has returned to Australia or any other high-risk areas in the last 14 days;
    • Been confirmed as having Coronavirus and are required to self-isolate; or
    • Been experiencing symptoms related to Covid-19?

For the health and safety of residents and staff this event may be postponed at short notice due to Covid-19.
