Police seek information after suspicious fire in Smeaton Grange

Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious fire which destroyed a number of cars in Smeaton Grange last month.

Emergency services were called to a wrecking yard on Camden Valley Way, Smeaton Grange at 3.45am on August 22 after reports several vehicles were on fire.

Camden Police Area Command officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the blaze.

Police have also identified two separate incidents at the same premises, which they believe to be related.

On Wednesday, May 13 another fire at the wrecking yard was reported to police and on Friday, August 7 there was a break and enter at the premises.

Detectives have released CCTV vision and would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a large build and has tattoos on lower left leg.

At the time, the man was wearing a baseball cap, dark shorts and carrying a backpack.

The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a medium build.

He was wearing dark pants and a hoodie at the time.
