You would need to have Antarctic ice coursing through your veins to not have the hairs tingling on the back of your neck during The Last Post.
That iconic bugle call has become so intrinsically woven into the fabric of Australian culture since the first ANZACs landed at Gallipoli back in 1915. It's simply stirring.
Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year thousands of Hunter residents who usually gather around cenotaphs across the nation won't be permitted to pay their respects to fallen diggers and servicemen and women en masse and listen to the The Last Post and it's haunting companion piece, The Rouse or Revielle.
However, millions of Australians are expected to host their own private commemorations on Saturday in backyards, driveways or lounge rooms to mark arguably the most solemn date on the national calendar.
There might even be a humble game of two up among families and a quiet beer.
To help you honour the diggers we've compiled a ANZAC Day playlist on Spotify to soundtrack your commemorations.
Besides the quintessential ANZAC Day songs like The Last Post, Revielle and Advance Australia Fair, we've included Redgum's timeless classic I Was Only 19 about the horrors of the Vietnam War and an emotional cover of Eric Bogle's And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda by the Hunter Valley's own William Crighton.
