No one can travel at the moment, but that doesn't mean you can't travel virtually. This week, we've complied a list of immersive virtual tours you can take in art galleries around the world.
Warning: you can fall down a rabbit hole and lose hours of time doing this, which is the point; we all have time to kill during this pandemic. Plus viewing art virtually costs far less and is easier on the feet; no more museum fatigue.
Australia
National Gallery of Australia, Canberra - Their international Matisse and Picasso exhibition is available as an online gallery.
National Gallery of Victoria - Has six fabulous virtual tours including Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat : Crossing Lines, KAWS : Companionship in the Age of Loneliness, Collecting Comme, Marking Time : Indigenous Art from the NGV, Petrina Hicks: Bleached Gothic and TOP Arts 2020.
Newcastle Art Gallery - Has two great virtual tours, one of the gallery collection and Tim Maguire's recent work.

Guggenheim Museum, New York - Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of architecture and collection of art can be toured virtually
National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C - Virtual tours include Degas at the Opera, a celebration of the 350th anniversary of the Paris Opera, presenting works by Edgar Degas. Raphael and his Circle celebrates the 500th anniversary of Raphael's death.
National Gallery, London - you can tour the Central Hall and rooms 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 and enjoy artworks from such masters as Titian, Veronese and Holbein.
Sistine Chapel Vatican - Michelangelo's masterpiece, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, is available for you to peruse for as long as you like. If you visit the chapel in person, visitors are packed in for a maximum of 15 minutes so this is definitely a better way to view it.
Tate, London - You can explore London's Tate art museums via various themes and movements.
The Louvre Paris- You can wander virtually through four of the Louvre's galleries including Petite Galerie, Egyptian Antiquities, Remains of the Louvre's moat, and Galerie d'Apollon. The Louvre is enormous and exploring it virtually will save your feet.
Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam - you can wander virtually through this famous museum dedicated to Van Gogh using Google Arts and Culture.
Vatican Art Museums - you can tour the priceless art and antiquities of the Vatican all from the comfort of your own home.
Victoria and Albert Museum, London - a stunning collection of works from fashion, furniture, wallpaper, design, photography, paintings, jewellery and architecture.
