Leppington station commuters - it's time to have your say.

The concept design for a new 1000-space car park at the busy station has been released.

Camden MP Peter Sidgreaves invited the community to have their say on the design.

"We understand the community is eager to see the new car park built at Leppington Station and now is their chance to provide feedback on the concept plan," Mr Sidgreaves said.

"The new multi-storey car park will deliver up to 1000 additional car spaces, which is 650 more than initially committed."

Construction of the new car park is planned to start around mid-2020 and finish mid-2021.

"A pop-up information stall will be hosted by Transport for NSW at Leppington Station on Thursday, March 12 and Tuesday, March 17 between 4.30pm and 6:30pm to allow the community to give feedback and ask questions," Mr Sidgreaves said.

"Feedback received will be considered as part of the development of the Review of Environmental Factors, which is the formal planning document for this project.

"We will notify the community when it will be available to view online."

During construction some existing car spaces will be unavailable in order to complete the work safely and alternative temporary parking will be available to offset these spaces.

Once the new car park is open there will be up to 1800 spaces available.

Community campaigner Michael Andjelkovic said urgent action needed to be taken at Leppington Station.

"In the almost two years that I have been campaigning for more parking, I have never seen so many cars parked on Byron Road, Rickard Road and Bringelly Road - right past Leppington Primary School," he said.

"The way things are going, by the time the NSW Government delivers its promised 1000 extracar parking spaces at Leppington Station, we will need even more parking at Leppington."

Mr Andjelkovic has launched an online petition in the hopes of speeding up the process.

He hopes the south west rail link from Leppington to the future Badgery's Creek airport will be built as soon as possible to relieve some of the pressure on Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations.

"Commuters at Leppington Station have been supportive of the petition with over 300 signatures collected in just two days, but we are a long way short of the 10,000 required to trigger a debate in parliament," he said.
