Former Socceroo and current Central Coast Mariners player Tommy Oar has become the first player to sign with the Macarthur FC Bulls.
The 28-year-old forward has signed a two-year deal with the new club, which will join the A-League in the 2020/21 season.
Macarthur FC head coach Ante Milicic said Oar's experience and character made him the perfect first choice.
"I worked with Tommy at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and was impressed by his attitude and application to his work," he said,
"He's played many times for the national team, has experience playing overseas in Holland and of course is very familiar with the Hyundai A-League.
"Tommy will fit perfectly into the style of play we want at Macarthur FC.
"We've said it all along that we want good characters and good people at this club and Tommy certainly sets the standard in that regard."
Oar has played 28 games for the Socceroos, making his national debut in 2020.
He played in all of Australia's 2014 FIFA World Cup group matches, and has scored two goals for his country.
The Queenslander has also played for Brisbane Roar in the A-League.
Macarthur FC previously chased Sydney FC favourite Milos Ninkovic, but were unsuccessful in signing the 35-year-old.
The expansion club's debut season will kick off in October.
Membership packages with the fledgling club are now available.
