The East Campbelltown Eagles have recognised their post prolific coach with the highest honour they can give - life membership.
The club presented coach Richard Barnes with his life membership during a special event held at Club Menangle on Saturday, November 9.
Ten previously-inducted life members were on hand to usher in their newest peer and hand him his life member jacket.
Barnes is known as the area's most successful coach in the history of ruby league, notching up a series of finals appearances and premierships since he got his start at the helm in 2006.
His successes include three Sydney Shield premierships and an undefeated Group 6 premiership, among other incredible achievements.
East Campbelltown Eagles president Daniel Draper said the club couldn't be more proud of their coach, affectionately called 'Barnzy'.
"Barnzy is a great coach, but more than that, he is a great mate, a great husband to his wife and a great father to his kids," he said.
"The people in Barnzy's life mean so much to him.
"I believe this is why he is a great coach - because he cares so much about his players."
The East Campbelltown executive committee said they would be "forever grateful for the work Richard Barnes has done at our club".
"He is a coach that is loyal to his players and club and has supported his players through the highs and lows."
