Campbelltown police seek help identifying man in relation to Alex Ioane murder

Campbelltown detectives are seeking information from anyone who may be able to identify the person in this picture.

Detectives believe this person may be able to assist their enquiries into the murder of Alex Ioane at Ingleburn on May 24, 2019.

Mr Ioane was assaulted by a group of up to seven males outside a 16th birthday party on Chester Road, Ingleburn at about 9.30pm on Friday, May 24.

The 18-year-old died due to the injuries he sustained during the attack.

State Crime Command Homicide Squad investigators and Campbelltown City Police Area Command detectives received information from witnesses which led to the arrest of two men on Sunday, May 26.

Earlier this year police released a computer generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation into the murder of Alex Ioane.

Strike Force Faischi was formed to investigate the murder of Mr Ioane and investigators are seeking the assistance of the public to identify the man pictured in the computer generated image.

Investigators believe this man was present at the party and may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being a Pacific Islander man, 18-20 years of age, athletic/muscular build and between 175-185 centimetres tall.

Police believe he was wearing dark clothing at the party.
