PRESEASON training for the 2020 Jimboomba Redbacks Senior Women's AFL team is set to kick off this month.
Next year will be the first time the Redbacks field a senior women's side in its history.
This comes following the success of the under 17 junior women's team, which prevailed as season premiers this year. The under 15 and 13 women junior teams also emerged as season finalists.
Jimboomba Redbacks spokesperson Aurora Hodges confirmed a seniors team would go ahead next year following a sustained effort to build numbers.
Assistant female coach David Balmforth told the Jimboomba Times earlier this year that a senior women's team would ensure the Redbacks did not lose their existing talent pool.
The first day of preseason training will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at Glenlogan Park from 5.30pm and will run for six weeks.
Summer training will begin in late January. For more information contact the Jimboomba Redbacks club on 0457 092 476.
