Rain and cool weather have eased the threat posed by several large blazes in Tasmania, but authorities warn this is just the start of a prolonged bushfire season.
Two buildings and one car were believed damaged by a fire near Interlaken in a remote part the state's Central Highlands which sparked earlier this week.
Two wildfires at Elderslie and Lachlan north of Hobart also burned uncontrolled for several days in unseasonably hot and dry weather.
"Unfortunately I think it's our new normal," Tasmania Fire Service incident controller Mark Dobson told reporters.
"If we look at what's happened in southern Queensland and northern New South Wales, that naturally extends down into Tasmania.
"It's not unusual to have fires in October but to have campaign fires which go for days and days is quite unusual.
"We're looking at a five to six month bushfire season when it's normally about six to eight weeks."
For the first time since records began, Hobart had six days of more than 25C in October.
Most of Tasmania experienced below-average rain across the month, with the state's east facing a drier-than-normal few months.
Central Highlands Mayor Loueen Triffitt told ABC Radio people had been left on edge.
"The community is a bit shocked. They're a bit nervous and anxious but we take it as it comes," she said.
All three fires were at advice level on Friday night, when a cool change swept the state.
The TFS expects some rain to fall across fire grounds over the weekend, but not enough to put them out.
Authorities are advising anyone thinking of staying in the Lake Crescent, Interlaken and Dennistoun Road areas to reconsider due to potential fire activity.
