One of the Border's most decorated soccer referees has been honoured by Football NSW.

Albury-Wodonga Soccer Referees Association life member Sheena Storrie was presented with a State Award in Sydney on Saturday night for her service to the game.

At the peak of her career as a FIFA referee, Storrie officiated 10 international fixtures between 1995 and 2001.

She has also refereed four Australian women's finals and five AWFA senior men's cup finals.

"I was very honoured," Storrie said.

"Mell Johnson put the nomination in from here.

"It was a great acknowledgement, but there's plenty of people that helped me get there.

"You have your days where there's moments out there, but overall it's been great and that's why I've been doing it for so long I guess.
