Former Adelaide United midfielder Ken Ilso has been banned for two years after testing positive to cocaine, Football Federation Australia (FFA) says.
Ilso was provisionally suspended in March after testing positive to benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in a drug test following an A-League game.
FFA on Friday said the Danish recruit, who had since left Adelaide, had been suspended for two years under the code's anti-doping policy.
Ilso's ban has been backdated to the start of his provisional suspension on March 21 this year.
The Dane, who was on Adelaide's roster for just the one A-League season, tested positive after he came on as a second-half substitute against Central Coast on January 27 this year.
Ilso largely failed to make an imprint in 19 A-League games for the Reds, scoring three goals but coming from the bench in almost half of his appearances.
Born in Solrod Strand, Ilso was a Danish underage international who played in his native country until moving to Germany in 2011.
Ilso had also spent stints playing in China, Singapore and Malasyia before signing with Adelaide.
