The Macarthur Triathlon Club is celebrating two fresh young champions this month.

Youngsters Madelyn Manny and Cody Salter emerged victorious from the annual Macarthur Duathlon Championship.

Manny, 16, was fast and motivated during the women's two-kilometre run/20-kilometre bike/four-kilometre run event.

She became the youngest winner in the event's history.

Second place was claimed by fellow junior star Aleesha Austin, 17, while Jessica Monagle claimed bronze.

The men's race was a battle between another pair of juniors, with reigning Macarthur Triathlon Champion Salter becoming the first junior in club history to hold both titles simultaneously.

Salter set a strong pace in the initial four-kilometre run before riding out to an unassailable lead in the bike leg.

He didn't let up in the final two-kilometre run. Second place went to 16-year-old Makenzue Kautz.

The club's year continues with the 2019-20 Macarthur Triathlon Championship on October 20.
