Robert Whittaker is set to step back in the cage this Sunday to defend his UFC middleweight title.
This is the first time the Mount Annan fighter will set foot in the MMA ring after withdrawing from his scheduled fight with Kevin Gastelum earlier this year due to a sports hernia.
Whittaker, 28, will fight New Zealander Israel Adesanya for UFC 243 at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium.
Defending UFC middleweight champion Whittaker took to social media to tell fans that he was well prepared for the fight.
"It's official, be ready," he wrote.
Sunday's bout will mark Whittaker's first UFC fight since June 2018, when he defeated Yoel Romero.
Adesanya has had a fast rise in the UFC ring winning five fights in the span of one year.
Whittaker posted on his Facebook page that he was looking forward to the match.
"I'm coming back hungrier than ever. War is coming," he posted.
