Dilly Doggy Day Out gets tails wagging

There were plenty of happy faces and wagging tails in Picton on the weekend.

Beloved canines and their human friends ventured out to the Picton Sportsground off-leash dog area to enjoy the Dilly Doggy Day Out.

The annual event attracted hundreds of people and their four-legged pals.

Council's special guest on the day was TV veterinarian Dr Katrina Warren, best known for her work on Harry's Practice and more recently the Today Show.

Dr Warren has travelled around Australia with her team of Border Collies, known as the Wonderdogs, to provide entertainment and education for the public.

The popular TV personality bought her Wonderdogs along on the day to perform demonstrations, meet the locals and provide photo opportunities.

Fashionable pooches donned their finest attire to take part in the Doggy Fashion Parade.

The council provided free microchipping at the event.

Cat owners were also able to have their felines microchipped for free at the council's animal shelter on the day.

There were obedience and agility displays along with stalls stocking plenty of canine goodies.
