Macarthur motorists are advised Bringelly Road will be partially closed over the coming days due to essential road works.
Bringelly Road will be temporarily closed between The Northern Road and Jersey Road at Bringelly.
A Transport for NSW spokesman said detours would be in place and motorists were advised to plan ahead this weekend.
The spokesman said motorists wanting to turn on to Bringelly Road from The Northern Road would be detoured through Robinson and Jersey roads.
He said motorists travelling west to The Northern Road would also be detoured via Jersey and Robinson roads.
"Heavy vehicles wanting to access The Northern Road will be detoured through King Street, Devonshire Road, Elizabeth Drive and Badgerys Creek Road," he said.
The spokesman said the temporary closure would be in place from Friday, July 12 to Monday, July 15 from 5 to 8pm while work was carried out.
"All road users are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time," he said.
"Traffic control and signs will be in place to direct motorists through the closure.
"The community will continue to be updated about upcoming changes in the area and are thanked for their patience while work is carried out."
