It can be tough for some people to juggle running a business with family commitments.

But Spring Farm resident Donna Sillett is proving to an inspiration for others - at both roles.

Ms Sillett, who is nicknamed the "Mumpreneur", was recently honoured at the 2019 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in Singapore.

The Macarthur Makeovers salon owner received the Gold Stevie Award for most innovative start-up of the year in consumer services.

Ms Sillett said it "felt amazing to win" the award.

"I first entered the competition in 2009 so it's been 10 years in the making," she said.

"The awards recognise the best in business, no matter if it's big or small."

Ms Sillett said the award win created another unexpected opportunity.

"I've now been asked to judge the competition," she said.

"It's going to be amazing to learn about businesses around the world."

Ms Sillett's Gold Stevie Award win came on the back of her receiving another prestigious honour.

Ms Sillett was handed the 2019 Samaro Romanis' Inspiring Mum of the Year Award.

"It was really cool [to win], a beautiful recognition," she said.

"My daughter Madison has just turned six years old so I have now to work my business around school time."

Ms Sillett said she hoped to inspire other women to nominate for awards.

"I have been entering businesses [in awards programs] for over 15 years," she said.

"I would love to see everybody enter and have a go."
