ONE COMMUNITY: The convention will feature up to 30 different accommodation providers in an expo style format.

One Community will host the first Sydney Disability Accommodation Convention at Campbelltown RSL Club on Friday, June 21 from 10am-4pm.

The organisation's aim is to connect and open the world of choice, control and empowerment for people with disabilities.

In the past 12 months, they have hosted more than 50 events for NDIS providers across the country and helped to connect more than 2500 people.

Co-founder and director Kellie Puxty said the need for such conventions came from the NDIS community who find these areas particularly confusing in terms of the processes to apply for the right kind of accommodation.

She said the convention will feature up to 30 different accommodation providers in an expo style format, which is free and open to the public.

People with disabilities looking for accommodation in Sydney are encouraged to attend, as well as their carers, parents and families.

"Support co-ordinators, local area co-ordinators and occupational therapists will also find the event beneficial in learning what NDIS processes are necessary to access accommodation, as well as the current vacancies and opportunities," Ms Puxty said.

Complementing the convention will be free educational forums on the topics of Supported Independent Living, Specialist Disability Accommodation, Living Assessments and Support Co-ordination.

Another feature will be a billboard featuring the latest accommodation vacancies for people with a disability in Sydney.

"To further enhance people's experience, there will be music and entertainment throughout the day," Ms Puxty said.

"This is a one stop shop for disability accommodation and your chance to find your place to call home," she said.

"Come along and make a day of it. Feast on the Friday lunch specials in the club, find the right accommodation provider for you and enjoy the entertainment throughout the day."
