Police have appealed for public assistance after a teenager was shot in Ambarvale early Sunday morning.

The boy, 17, was walking with friends near the intersection of Woodhouse Drive and Jaggers Place after leaving a party between midnight and 12.15am on Sunday, May 19 when he was shot.

The teenager was rushed to Campbelltown Hospital and treated for a gunshot wound to the right upper arm.

The injury is not life-threatening. He was was later transferred to Liverpool Hospital to undergo surgery.

Campbelltown Police Area Command officers were contacted and attended the hospital where they spoke with the youth, who was unable to provide details of the incident.

Detectives continue with their inquiries into the shooting.
