Truck catches fire on the Hume Highway near Douglas Park

There are major delays on the Hume Highway this morning after a truck caught fire near Douglas Park.

Emergency services were called to the incident about 7.35am on Monday, May 13. Roads and Maritime Services crews are also at the scene.

One northbound lane is closed and there is heavy congestion for northbound motorists.

A Transport Management Centre spokesperson said traffic was now queued up to seven kilometres.

"Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and exercise caution," the spokesperson said.
