Elderly woman dies after being struck by car in Narellan

An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a car in Narellan yesterday.

The woman, 81, was walking across Camden Valley Way about 1.20pm on Thursday, May 9 when she was struck by a BMW being driven east.

The female driver, 60, stopped and helped the pedestrian, with assistance from bystanders.

Emergency services were called, including Camden Police Area Command officers and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

The 81-year-old woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.

The driver was uninjured but was taken for mandatory testing. She has since been released by police.

Police inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
