The Camden Show returns on April 5 and 6 this year and will once again have a focus on agriculture. Each year, thousands of people visit the show, which was first held in 1886.

Show secretary Jo Martin said it is the largest community event in the Macarthur District, providing a diverse range of things to see and do for people of all age groups.

"This keeps people coming back, along with the community spirit it embraces and the education provided about our agricultural, horticultural, commercial and industrial resources," Ms Martin said. "We welcome and encourage all current and new residents from the growing Macarthur Region and beyond that have never experienced the Camden Show, to attend.

"Agriculture is the backbone of Australia and is rich in the Macarthur Region.

"The Camden Show highlights and celebrate the value of farmers and growers especially in our local region as well as educating visitors about agriculture while remaining 'Still a Country Show'. Come to the Camden Show to experience what a fantastic show it is, to see and learn where our food really comes from and to support the wonderful talented community that we live in."
