Macarthur punters have 20,000 reasons to get excited about the upcoming Miracle Mile festival at Club Menangle.
The Million Dollar Ainsworth Miracle Mile will be held on March 2 and residents can win big - just by turning up.
Thousands of people are expected to flock to the harness racing festival and Club Menangle will run a $20,000 cash prize competition for a lucky winner who comes through the gate.
The club's chief executive Bruce Christison said each person would receive an entry form on the night.
He said he was looking forward to seeing a large crowd.
"The Miracle Mile is our biggest event of the year," he said.
"The event has been going for 52 years and has been at Club Menangle since 2009."
For the first time, this year's Miracle Mile on-track winning prize has reached $1 million.
"The Miracle Mile is the richest harness race in Australia and New Zealand," Mr Christison said.
However, there will be plenty of action away from the track to keep punters entertained.
The Lexus of Macarthur Fashions on the Field will be held, with $1500 travel vouchers up for grabs for the best dressed male and female.
"People come from all over the place for the fashions on the field - it's a big event in its own right," Mr Christison said.
"There will also be live music, food stalls and other races on the night."
Eight runners are set to take part in this year's Miracle Mile and qualifying is underway.
YaYas Hot Spot, trained by Shane and Lauren Tritton in Menangle, secured the first starting position after winning the Newcastle Mile last Friday.
Mr Christison said YaYas Hot Spot was a late inclusion after another horse withdrew. It paid $80 for the win.
"YasYas Hot Spot was an emergency for that race - now she's qualified for a million dollar race," he said.
Miracle Mile qualifying events continue this Saturday night when Club Menangle hosts the Cordina Chariots of Fire race.
The winner of the group one race will get an automatic invitation into the Miracle Mile. Gates open at 5pm.
The final qualifying round will be held at Club Menangle on February 23, the Allied Express Sprint and Canadian Club Sprint.
The winner and runner-up in each of those sprint races will get automatic invitations to the Miracle Mile.
The last two spots in the Miracle Mile field will be selected as "wildcard entries". Two horses will be chosen by Club Menangle directors from the Chariots of Fire and sprint races.
