You may have heard the term winning a “truckload” of prizes, but what about a skipbin load?
A skipbin full of Australian rules football equipment was delivered to Ingleburn’s Memorial Oval yesterday (Thursday, February 7).
The prize – worth $15,000 – was presented to the Ingleburn Magpies Junior AFL Club, as winners of a competition run by the GWS Giants in conjunction with sponsor Bingo Skip Bins.
The Magpies successfully submitted a video (see below) where players showed inventive ways to use a Bingo bin.
Ingleburn club president Shannon Prenter said the equipment, including footballs and goal post pads, was “really going to help” ahead of the 2019 season.
“We have seen huge growth at our club in recent years,” he said.
“We currently have 140 registered kids but we’re always on the lookout for more.”
Prenter thanked the Giants and Bingo Skip Bins for their support.
“The Giants have been instrumental in getting our club to where we are today,” he said.
GWS midfielder and Campbelltown teen Nick Shipley was special guest to help present the equipment on Thursday.
Shipley said he was excited to help deliver the skipload of gear to Ingleburn.
“It’s really exciting to be back in my local area and have the opportunity to give back to junior footy clubs,” he said.
“This skipload of gear will be invaluable to the club for the upcoming season.”
