Ayden Elliott and Victorian Compact Speedcar Title podium finishes are now becoming quite a trend.
The Narellan racer scored a third-place finish in last Saturday night’s event at Wangaratta City Speedway – his second podium finish at the race.
The 23-year-old driver managed to overcome a few car issues during his qualifying heat races to fight hard during the feature race to achieve a third-place finish.
“To finish on the podium again in a Victorian Title is a really satisfying result for the team and I,” he said.
“Earlier in the night we had a few car problems, and although there were a few issues during the feature race, which included overheating and the incorrect right-rear tyre choice, we were able to fight on and came away with a podium result.”
Earlier in the night, Elliott contested three heat races and came away with a third and a win.
However, in the second heat race, he recorded a disqualification due to his car losing power.
Elliott still managed to start the Victorian Title deciding feature race from position three.
Elliott will return to Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway for the latest NSW Compact Speedcar Club Championship round next Saturday night.
After finishing third in his last outing at Valvoline Raceway earlier this season, he is aiming to challenge for the top step of the podium.
A fortnight later (February 2), he will be returning to Valvoline Raceway in the Compact Speedcar.
