Take a spectacular trip to Sydney’s north pole

As temperatures begin to rise, frosty festive fun is about to hit Sydney.

One of Australia’s biggest Christmas festivals, The Sydney Santa Spectacular, will come to Rosehill Gardens Racecourse from December 7 to 27.

The three-week extravaganza will feature a portable ice skating rink, double-decker carousel, rides, inflatable courses, stage shows, carolling, Santa meet-and-greets and much more.

Co-founder of the event and Rossmore resident Jade Evans said tickets were already selling “like gangbusters”.

“We live and breathe Christmas year-round, so it’s exciting to see other people embracing our event and getting into the Christmas spirit,” she said.

“By getting in now, Christmas-lovers can ensure they secure the day and session they’d like – with a few sessions already close to selling out.”

This year’s newest attraction is the Polar Bear playground complete with snowballs for kids to play in, as well as putt putt golf.

The flat-priced golden entry ticket ($41) entitles all festivalgoers to unlimited rides, activities, entertainment and free parking over a three-hour session.

“Even in the years prior to founding the Sydney Santa Spectacular, my husband Josh and I were obsessed with Christmas,” Mrs Evans said.

“We have six young kids, so we know how expensive it can be to take a big family to a special event – especially at a pricey time like Christmas.

“We don’t want anyone to miss out, so we make sure the ticketing is great value and affordable.

“All rides and parking are included in our tickets – which is awesome value – and while we do sell food and drinks at the event, families can also opt to BYO to make it even more cost-effective.”

Evans said her favourite element of the festival was a towering 15-metre charity Christmas tree, under which attendees are encouraged to place gifts for children in need.

The Sydney Santa Spectacular team has hand-delivered more than 9000 presents from under the giving tree to the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital in the past three years.

“Last year was our biggest year of gift giving – we gave out close to 5000 gifts from that one year alone,” Ms Evans said.

“And we’d like to see that grow even more this year. “
