Minto’s Chantelle Torres believes she has the key ingredient to help win an international beauty pageant competition.
Ms Torres said her self-belief could guide her to victory in the 2019 Miss Glamour Look International contest despite facing fierce competition.
“My best feature is my confidence,” the 22-year-old said.
“Confidence is a big thing in the pageant world, you won’t perform without it.”
Ms Torres earned her place in the international contest by winning the Miss Glamour Look Australia competition in Bankstown in late September.
The Macarthur woman scooped the awards pool on the night, taking home eight crowns.
She was also named best in festival rave, best in resort wear, best in evening gown, miss charity, face of the night, darling of the crowd and the the Netizen’s choice award winner.
Ms Torres said she was “very proud” to win several crowns at the national contest.
“They kept calling my name out on the night, it was a big surprise,” she said.
Ms Torres said she entered her first beauty pageant in July but had been interested in fashion and modelling for years.
“I previously modeled designer clothes at fashion shows,” she said.
“I found out people who organised fashion shows also organised pageants so I decided to try it and that’s how I got involved.
“I enjoy the chance to meet new people.”
Ms Torres will travel to The Philippines in February for the Miss Glamour Look International contest.
She said she felt confident about her chances of winning the crown.
“I aim to win,” she said.
