A man has been arrested at a Leppington home charged with sexually assaulting a student under his care.
The 50-year-old teacher allegedly assaulted the girl – his 16-year-old student – while in the classroom of a school in the inner west.
The girl reported the alleged incident to her parents on Monday. Her parents then contacted Auburn Police Area Command to report the incident.
Auburn detectives went to the home in Leppington about 10.30pm last night to arrest the 50-year-old.
He was then taken to Narellan Police Station, questioned in relation to the incident and charged with sexual intercourse with a person under care.
The man appeared before Campbelltown Local Court today and was granted strict conditional bail.
He will reappear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday, December 5.
