A sparkling century from Tom Cooper has lifted South Australia to 280 in their domestic one-day cup match against Queensland.
Cooper hit a career-best 139 from 134 balls in a defiant knock that included seven sixes on the small confines of Hurstville Oval.
After being sent in to bat, the Redbacks faced disaster after slipping to 3-36 and then 5-114.
But the veteran Cooper put aside two failures to open the season to post almost half his side's total.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey hit a whirlwind 42 from 40 balls at the top of the order while legspinner Adam Zampa chipped in with 30 (off 22) down the order.
Fast bowler Billy Stanlake did the damage in the early stages for Queensland, claiming three top-order scalps before finishing with 3-36 off his 10 overs.
SA were bowled out after 48.5 overs.
Cooper went after the spinners with youngster Matthew Kuhnemann and Mitch Swepson returning 2-67 and 1-79 respectively.
