Woman allegedly assaulted during ride-share trip from Ambarvale

A 23-year-old woman was allegedly indecently assaulted during a ride-share trip to Camden yesterday.

The Hyundai I20 driver collected the woman from a home in Ambarvale about 5.15am on Sunday morning

The woman had organised to be taken to a home in Camden.

The driver allegedly indecently assaulted the woman during the trip and grabbed her arm to prevent her from leaving the car.

The woman managed to free herself and run to a nearby home, where police were alerted to the alleged incident.

Police arrested a 52-year-old man after stopping his car on Queen Street, Campbelltown following an investigation.

The man, from Ambarvale, was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency.

He was granted conditional bail and will face Picton Local Court on Tuesday, September 25.
