Martin ‘The Situ-Asian’ Nguyen is hoping history will repeat itself on Friday, May 18.

The Narellan Vale fighter will take on an old foe to defend his One Championship Featherweight World Title.

Nguyen will face top contender Christian ‘The Warrior’ Lee at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The last time they faced each other Nguyen easily beat Lee.

“He’s coming off a four fight winning streak so when they reached out to me and set the challenge I accepted,” Nguyen said.

“I expect him to be a bit more wiser now and he has nothing to lose.”

Nguyen has been in the gym multiple times a day seven days a week to prepare.

“I’m ready for the best and the worst,” he said.

“It’s always tough re-matching someone you’ve fought before.”

Nguyen also holds the Light Weight World Title making him the third mixed martial arts fighter in the world to hold simultaneous world titles.

“If I win this fight I will get to keep my featherweight title but if lose I will have to work my way back up to fight for it again,” he said.

Nguyen urged locals to download the One Championship app to stream the fight for free.

“It’s good to watch and support local fighters – and it’s a rematch and they always make for a pretty exciting fight,” he said.
