Here’s where you can pay tribute to our diggers this Anzac Day across Macarthur, Wollondilly and Camden.
Wednesday, April 25
Thousands of people are expected to flock to Camden on Wednesday, April 25 at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park Memorial at 5.15am sharp.
The dawn service will be followed by the Camden Anzac Day march and community service.
Schools, bands, businesses, community groups and more will band together to march down Argyle Street from 10.30am.
The march will finish at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park, for the commencement of the 2018 Camden Anzac Day Commemoration Service at 11am.
The Picton Anzac Day Committee is inviting residents to attend a service and march from 6.30am on Wednesday, April 25.
The marchers will walk up Argyle Street and will stop at the RSL Picton Memorial Park where the service will start at 7am.
The committee is still calling for names of veterans, who lived or enlisted from Wollondilly, post Vietnam War. Locals can also buy a paver to commemorate any armed service member. Contact Mr Law on 0427 901 275 or email@example.com.
Picton-Thirlmere-Bargo RSL sub-branch will host another commemoration service at Bargo Sports Club from 11am on Wednesday, April 25.
The Warragamba and District Anzac Committee will also hold a service at the Memorial Park Civic Centre on Wednesday, April 25 from 11am.
Fourteenth Street will be closed to traffic between 10.30am and noon.
At the conclusion of the service, attendees can go to the Warragamba Workers Club.
The committee is raising funds to erect a bronze statue in the memorial park.
There will be a number of services throughout Campbelltown to mark Anzac Day 2018.
The Ingleburn dawn service will be the earliest event in the area, beginning at 4.45am with the march along Wagtail Crescent and Warbler Avenue.
The dawn service will be held immediately after.
A second service organised by the Ingleburn RSL Sub-branch will also be held at 10am at the Denham Court Anglican Church (30 Church Road, Denham Court).
Campbelltown RSL Sub-branch will also hold its annual dawn service at 5.45am in Mawson Park.
A second service will be held at 9.15am after the traditional Anzac Day parade along Queen Street which will begin at 8.40am.
Two up will begin at Campbelltown RSL at 10am.
Saturday, April 28
Members of the revered Hellenic Presidential Guard, also called evzones, will stop by Camden Bicentennial Equestrian park on Saturday, April 28 to take part in an historic wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial.
They will be joined by the Consul-General of Greece, Christos Karras.
The visit was arranged by the Macarthur Greeks association and is a first for the area.
The wreath-laying ceremony would begin at 4pm on Saturday, April 28 and the public was more than welcome to attend.
Sunday, April 29
Grab your joggers and some friends and head down to the Macarthur Lions Club ANZAC Run on Sunday, April 29.
The event held at Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park from 9.15am is now in its tenth year.
Funds raised will support Lifeline Macarthur’s Telephone Crisis Support Line.
