Woman's body found at Batemans Bay

A body, believed to be that of an elderly woman, has been found at Batemans Bay over the weekend.

Police were called to Fairview Drive in Lilli Pilli on the NSW south coast after receiving reports of a vehicle found in dense bushland after 5pm on Sunday.

Officers found the body of a woman nearby.

Specialist forensic officers are examining the scene today and a post mortem examination is expected to officially determine a cause of death.

Police said the woman has not yet been formally identified but it is believed to be a woman, aged in her 80s, who was reported missing from the area last month.

Vailma Orthelia Williams, aged 88, was reported missing after asking for directions to Beach Road last month.

Staff at a Batemans Bay dental surgery on the Old Princes Highway were the last to see the Malua Bay woman on Monday, April 22.
