We all want the opportunity to knock him out, but Tommy Browne will actually get the chance.

The Bradbury boxer will face off against Anthony Mundine on January 17 at the Star Casino in Sydney.

Browne said he has had a great year so he is confident that he will win the fight.

“Coming off the win I had in Singapore against Aleksander Bajawa early in the year I am pretty confident,” he said.

“I was also in Las Vegas training at Floyd Mayweather’s gym when he was fighting Connor McGregor so I got to spar with a lot of the world’s top fighters.

“It’s been a big year for me.”

The father of two will spend more than 36 hours a week at he Grange High Performance gym in Smeaton Grange, to prepare for the fight.

Browne said he will be training hard in the lead-up to the big bout.

“Mundine is going to be ready for this fight,” he said.

“People have been saying that he is too old and that he is finished, so he is going to need to beat me to prove to Australia that he is still a formidable opponent.”

Mr Browne said he hoped locals would get behind him.

“We pushed hard for the fight to be held out here,” he said.

“Homegrown support really does help.

“I hope locals will get out there and come and watch the fight in January.”
