It appears the Advertiser’s readers have a passion for colourful silos.
On Friday morning, the Advertiser shared a photo on Facebook of the twin silos at Bradbury as they looked in 1970 (see below) with the post attracting plenty of “likes” and commentary.
Most readers were highly enthusiastic about the prospect of the silos undergoing a colourful artistic makeover, similar to that now being sported by silos in country Australia.
For years, the two silos have stood tall on the eastern side of Appin Road, near Bradbury.
In March 2017, Campbelltown councillor Meg Oates suggested the idea of painting a historical mural on the twin silos.
Cr Oates wants to follow the lead of other Victorian and NSW towns who have used old silos as canvases for portraits of local identities.
Seven months later, Campbelltown Council has not revealed any more plans for the mural proposal.
While the wait continues, check out a gallery of colourful silo photos at the top of the page.
