Teen charged with attempted armed robbery at Macquarie Fields

A 15-year-old boy will face Campbelltown court tomorrow charged with several offences including attempted armed robbery.

The boy was apprehended by police at Macquarie Fields this morning after he was allegedly spotted with his head covered walking towards a fast food restaurant on Harold Street.

He reportedly attempted to flee the area and violently resisted officers as they were arresting him.

Several bystanders assisted with the arrest.

The boy was allegedly found with a 20-centimetre knife and a small amount of cannabis at the time of his arrest.

He was already wanted by officers in relation to a break, enter and steal incident at Macquarie Fields earlier this week.

The 15-year-old was charged with attempt armed robbery, being armed with intent, carry cutting weapon upon apprehension, possess prohibited drug, resist arrest and aggravated break, enter and steal.

He will face Children’s Court tomorrow (Friday, September 22).
