Futsal players from Camden and Minto now have an elite competition where they can hone their skills.

Minto FC and Camden FC are part of the inaugural Series Futsal NSW competition which starts this week at Emerton Leisure Centre.

The Macarthur teams will face each other in round three on Wednesday, September 20.

Commissioner Christopher Zeballos said the competition aimed to attract more players to the sport.

Zeballos said the competition would be tough because 15 current and former national Futsalroo players and more than 20 NSW representatives would take to the indoor court.

Futsalroo Dean Lockhart will play for Minto FC and said he looked forward to the competition because it would be a good opportunity to regularly play the sport.

“This will be a really good tournament and [the high level of competition] will be great for the boys who have played for Australia,” he said.

Camden FC captain Tomislav Bazdaric said he was excited to be playing against the best players in NSW and he felt honoured to be invited to play in the competition.

“The game against Minto FC will be big,” he said. “Camden is ready to prove it can hold up against some of the best players in the country, especially Minto because they have a strong team.”
