Macarthur residents will soon be able to swing, slide and seesaw at Spring Farm’s newest park.
The Riverside park will open on Friday, September 1 to kick off Father’s Day weekend.
The park’s designer and Cornish Group managing director Brett Cornish said the new playground was the largest in the Camden local government area.
“It’s an amazing park with some really cool equipment – we’ve gone way overboard on the awesome equipment,” he said.
“There’s no other like it around – it’s definitely the newest and the flashest.”
The Burrell Road park includes slides, climbing equipment, trampolines, swingsets, seesaws and it is also wheelchair accessible.
Planning for the huge playground, which is adjacent to the Spring Farm dog park, took three years.
Mr Cornish said the size of the park and the style of equipment made it unique.
“My eight-year-old nephew Jack had a lot of say in the design,” he said.
“He told us about all the good stuff.
“All of the equipment was made in Germany and complies with Australian safety standards.
“We have stuff for toddlers right up to the big kids – we also have some wheelchair accessible equipment.”
The playground is next to a large kick-around space which leads down to the lake.
Mr Cornish said there were also barbecue shelters near the playground.
“Opening weekend will be a lot fun,” he said.
“It’s Father’s Day weekend so it’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time with Dad.”
The Cornish Group used local contractors to complete the park.
The park is located off Burrell Road, Spring Farm near the dog park.
