Heavy rain and chilly temperatures didn’t stop the riders at the Macarthur BMX Pre-Title event last weekend.
Some of Australia and New Zealand’s top riders battled it out for the top scores.
Macarthur BMX Club committee member Andrew Long said children under eight years old through to adults aged 60 years or more took to the track over the weekend.
‘The track was wet and soft in places but the racing continued at its best with riders battling it out as fast and furious as usual,” he said.
“The racing was very close and hard fought with some great results.
“Notably both the boys and girls Australian test teams came away with a win over their New Zealand counterparts.”
More than 500 riders competed over the weekend and despite wet conditions Mr Long said more than 1000 spectators attended the event.
“We are very pleased with the how well the event went,” he said.
“We look forward to hosting the 2017 NSW BMX state titles in October.”
