Foodies, prepare your appetites – AnnanROMA is back.

The annual food and wine festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Thousands of food-lovers from across western Sydney will make the journey to The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan on Sunday, April 2 to sample delicious food.

Event organiser and visitor experience manager Rebecca Anderson said the festival was in an ideal location.

“People don’t often link the Macarthur region with great food, but this cluster of Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly areas are home to some incredible kitchen talent and quality produce,” she said,

“AnnanROMA is such a special event because it reminds people about that.

“Historically, Macarthur was the food bowl for the Sydney basin…and here we are now, still filling the bellies of Sydney-siders.”

This year’s event boasts a strong line-up with Asian-fusion stars Kyubi Modern Asian Dining, quirky newcomers Vulkan Balkan, Mexican kings Frank and Blanco, and mouth-watering burger combinations and meaty offerings from the likes of Juicy Goose, Otis Bar and Grill, Burger Frank, Embers Charcoal Kitchen and Orangeville Meat Co.

Sweet tooths will get their just desserts at a special 10th birthday addition to the AnnanROMA ‘Eat Street’ – ‘Sweet Street’ will feature a decadent display of dessert offerings including treats from Siderno Pasticceria, Gourmet Macarons, The Ice Cream and Coffee Company and RicoCoco’s Chocolate Tea.

“It is so great to see so many local businesses in the spotlight and to receive such fantastic support from the greater Sydney community,” Ms Anderson said.

“Last year we had some 11,000 people come from as far as the Central Coast and Cronulla.

“We look forward to seeing them again this year for more good food and good fun.”

Last year’s AnnanROMA food and wine festival attracted large crowds with the gardens reaching full capacity, which meant the gates were closed to hundreds of disappointed festival goers.

Police, traffic controllers and Rural Fire Service volunteer parking staff will all be in attendance to ensure smooth traffic flow through the site.

If event parking capacity is reached, the gate will not be closed and instead vehicles will be directed to additional parking areas in the garden, within a short walk to AnnanROMA.

Live entertainment is also a feature of the day.

This years headline act is Little Georgia who will play alongside local acts such as Luke Koteras and The Bells.

There will also be a number of hands-on children’s activities hosted by the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan’s education team.

The free event will be held from 10am to 4pm.
