Supermoon 2016 in Greater Sydney and Blue Mountains | YOUR PICS
THE “super moon” experience proved to be a mixed bag for residents in Greater Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
On Monday night, the moon was at its closest point to earth since 1948.
According to NASA, the moon was up to 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than usual.
Unfortunately, cloudy conditions proved a hindrance for residents in Sydney hoping to view the unique moon.
The Bureau of Meteorology’s prediction of cloud cover across most of Sydney and the ACT on Monday night proved correct.
