A Kearns P-plate driver, 19, died in a head-on collision on Appin Road on Monday morning.
Police confirmed Thomas Scott-Dobbie was killed in what was the second fatal smash on the stretch between Campbelltown and Wollongong in three weeks. An Ambarvale boy, 8, died and three adults were injured in a head-on collision on the road on September 28.
In Monday's crash, police said Mr Scott-Dobbie was driving his Hyundai coupe east along Appin Road when it collided with an oncoming Holden Rodeo utility about 7.45am. The man driving the utility, 55, was taken to St George Hospital where he was treated for internal injuries. Appin Road was closed in both directions for almost four hours. Campbelltown Police said it was still too early to determine whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. They have called for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
