Ellen DeGeneres has lambasted a Christian pastor who accused her of pushing a gay agenda on her popular television show.
The television host and comedian took a moment to return serve at an article written by Larry Tomczak for the Christian Post titled: 'Are you aware of the avalanche of gay programming assaulting your home?'
The article speculated that "indoctrination and propaganda coming from those advocating a gay lifestyle in our country, classrooms and culture is increasing."
Tomczak called out DeGeneres in his article, saying: "Ellen DeGeneres celebrates her lesbianism and 'marriage' in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls."
This didn't sit very well with DeGeneres, who married Australian actress Portia de Rossi in 2008.
"First of all, let's just break this down, I'm not 'married,' I'm married, that's all," said DeGeneres, using finger quotation marks.
"And Larry, I don't even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism ... well I guess I do," said the comedian as she pulled out a party popper.
 
But she didn't stop there, refuting the pastor's claims modern television promotes homosexuality in an unhealthy way.
"Larry, the only way I'm trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another. That is the message I'm sending out. I don't have an agenda. I'm not here to brainwash anyone."
"In the article, the pastor criticises a lot of TV shows for promoting gay agendas," DeGeneres said. "He says that Glee has over five characters. Modern Family had a gay wedding. Anderson Cooper boasts about his homosexuality.
"If you ask me, Larry is watching a lot of gay TV."
Tomczak described the proliferation of homosexuality on television as an "avalanche" and a "tsunami", and warned people to "take notice and take action to guard those we love."
But DeGeneres, who famously announced she was gay on the cover of TIME magazine in 1997, gave her audience one last piece of wisdom before finishing her rebuttal in typical DeGeneres style.
"Attention youth of the world, I want you to live your lives being exactly who you are," she said, holding a spinning wheel. "Be true to yourself. The most important thing is to be true to yourself.
"The second most important thing is that you wear Ellen underwear and only Ellen underwear."
