THE stylish simplicity of Scandinavian design will be popular in interiors and lighting in 2015, according to Interior designer and trend forecaster Bree Leech.
Ms Leech said it was easy to re-create the "Scandi" look by using a few key features.
"Simple Scandi is where graphic geometry and clean lines meet organic and relaxed finishes," Ms Leech says.
"Sometimes it takes on an industrial edge but the look is always clean and modern."
She said materials included paper, pale unfinished timber and matt black metal.
"It uses simple, limited palettes, often in neutral, charcoal, black and white with a pop of colour in detail, such as a lamp cord," she said.
"Choose simple large industrial pendants or timber balanced-arm lamp bases with black or white shades."
Brilliant Lighting has released a range of decorative pendants inspired by the simplicity of Nordic design.
Interior product manager Jacqueline Hughes said the Gian floor lamp, with its timber tripod base and white painted detail, was perfect for a Scandi-inspired room.
"If you are looking for a pendant, Brilliant Lighting's big, bold, industrial style Hugo pendant has a soft chalky finish perfect for a kitchen or dining room, while the Matrix adds a modern twist with its strong geometric design, and our Pix range has table and floor lamps."
