Award-winning rose, the Golden Child will be released at Swane's Nurseries in Dural on Saturday, October 4 in support of the Steve Waugh Foundation.
The event will include a special naming of the rose, and $10 from every potted Golden Child sold this spring will be donated to the foundation to help young Australians with rare diseases.
Spokeswoman for the event Annette Marsh said the horticultural term for the rose's scent is a "mild tea".
"There are around 10 flower heads on each stem, so when you take a stem you've almost got a bouquet," she said.
"A lot of flowers have their colour dwindle or fade, but the Golden Child rose can maintain its vibrancy."
The rose's awards will be on display on the day, including its Australian Rose of the Year 2013 trophy.
Saturday, October 4, 10.30am-noon at Swane's Nurseries on Galston Road, Dural. Limited number of the Golden Child roses available for first release.
